In Bentonville Arkansas on February 7 19 48 the father Roy Logston and his wife step mother were jailed on child neglect charges after a judge heard testimony that Lola Logston a 14 year old girl had been chained to a cot in her home for three years. Dr C J Clemmer testified visiting the Logston home near Highfall found Lola chained and wearing only underclothes. The couple said the girl was stubborn and they chained her to keep her at home following threats to kill her father.
