Youth Rescued After Falling Into Abandoned Well
A 13 year old boy fell through boards covering an open top of a 100 foot well north of Ada. Ada Fire Department snorkel truck rescued Johnny Anderson about 45 minutes later. He had been playing with the owner’s sons and climbed to the top from a nearby pole.

Farm index edges up as prices dip in three of four months
The Agriculture Department reports the overall farm price index rose about 8 percent from a year earlier, despite declines in cattle eggs apples and lemons from Dec 15 to Jan 15. Prices for meat animals fell 1 percent. hog prices stood at 47.50 per 100 pounds and beef cattle averaged 33.50 per hundredweight.
Prices paid to farmers fall in three of four months
Agriculture Department figures show farm prices dipping for cattle eggs and apples during the latest period while expenses rose. Fruit prices averaged 7 percent below Dec 15 and 4 percent below Jan 15 1975, with poultry and eggs down 3 percent overall. Potatoes rose to 4.52 per 100 pounds and corn rose 7 cents to 2.44 per bushel. Cow prices increased, while steer and heifer prices fell.
