Ada ace Maj. J. C. Nabors dies in Vietnam crash
Maj. J C Nabors 39 of 935 Susan Ada Oklahoma was killed in action in South Vietnam Friday when his aircraft crashed during a strafing mission. He had been in Vietnam since October on a year long tour. He had flown 31 missions in two months with the 7th Air Force before returning to Ada with his wife and daughter Margo. He was a 1945 Ada High School graduate and later served in the Air Force, attending Central State College Tulsa University and serving at Nellis Air Force Base Nevada.

DWC Traps Turkey For Sooner State
GREAT SALT PLAINS The Department of Wildlife Conservation trapped and trans 50 more wild turkeys week bringing the spring trapping total to 129 birds. The latest catch was part of a flock of 87 trapped on the Great Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge. Thirty seven were released on the spot as the Department was only allowed to remove 50 from the refuge.
