The First National Bank at Talihina Oklahoma was burglarized at 2 o clock yesterday morning. The safe was blown and about $2.00 taken while roughly $700 remained. The robbers fired at a man trying to raise the alarm and fled. Damage to the building was extensive. Deputy Marshal J E Emmert and a posse pursue the culprits as the bank, insured, shows losses.
The Shooters' torpedo Company nitro glycerin plant five miles south of Tula along the Arkansas river blew up late yesterday afternoon. Two workers inside the agitator area escaped with their lives as they saw tensions rising. Total damage estimated at about three thousand dollars.
New York January 29 Captain W H Vanschaick found guilty of criminal negligence for failing to conduct fire drills aboard the steamer General Slocum during a June 19 4 disaster that claimed over 1 000 lives. He was sentenced to ten years in prison.
News from Copenhagen reports the death of King Christian the Ninth of Denmark at his palace. His death ushers in the accession of his eldest son Prince Frederick who will be proclaimed Frederick the Eighth tomorrow. Dr. King went to Coalgate.
The President sent to the Senate the nomination of Grosvenor A Porter of Muskogee Indian Territory for U S Marshal of the Southern District of Indian Territory. Porter is a cousin of Mrs Roosevelt and the White House signaled John Abernathy would be named marshal for the District of Oklahoma.
Jim Harris, 55, of Stonewall, and Mary Bruner, 38, of Ada, are identified in the record as a pair involved in the case. No further details are provided in the readable text.

Cleveland telegram reports John D Rockefeller absent since September. Inquirers cannot locate him. His brother in law George Rudd says Rockefeller may not be in Europe and declines to reveal current whereabouts.
The House Census Committee asked for public release of the Census Bureau estimate of unginned cotton as of January 15. Secretary of Commerce and Labor declined to order the estimate published citing its speculative use. The measure may not pass despite committee amendments.
