U S Wheat Is Going To Egypt Despite Tirade
The Agriculture Department authorized a $16 994 000 surplus wheat purchase for Egypt under the Food for Peace program five days after Nasser’s hostile speech. Egypt will pay in its currency, some of which will be spent in the United Arab Republic, despite earlier U S objections.

Mrs. Witcher Dies Abroad in Lebanon Visit
Mrs. Alice Witcher, wife of Glenn Witcher formerly of Ada, died December 28 while in Lebanon for a check-up. The couple lived in an oil camp in the Persian Gulf area where Glenn worked for Conoco Oil. Her mother Mrs. A. L. Harle operates a Stonewall store. her mother in Nassau County resides at 8 Munny Drive, Westbury. The body will arrive in New York Thursday night with services and interment at Dalton Funeral Home in Levitton. Glenn’s sister Mrs. Dale Smith lives in Cocoa, and brother C. Russell Witcher is employed in Antigua.

Farm prices end 1964 down 1 percent from 1963
Washington AP Farm product prices finished 1964 about one percent lower than a year earlier and the parity ratio slipped to 75 percent from 76 in mid-December. The Agriculture Department report notes costs for production and living rose two thirds of one percent, with several commodities closing the year at lower levels than 1963 including wheat rye hay cotton cottonseed dry peas pears beef cattle calves turkeys eggs mohair grapefruit limes oranges.

Pate To Be Transferred After Insanity Verdict
Gerald Pate, on death row for the 1959 slaying of 15 year old Mary Jane Haygood, was found insane by a district court jury after 48 minutes of deliberation. He is to be moved to Eastern State Hospital at Vinita for confinement until insanity ends.

Greek Soldier Meets Ada Couple During Christmas Visit
Panagiotis Bantounas a Greek Army sergeant visiting his Uncle Gus Pallas in Ada Oklahoma for Christmas tours the city sights.
