Death Strikes County Pioneer W B Summers
W B Bill Summers aged 62 died Wednesday after a heart attack at his Francis service station. Born October 20 1897 in Bokchito he moved to Pontotoc County in 1910. He worked as bookkeeper and telegraph operator before running a Francis service station. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Criswell Funeral Home. He leaves wife Clara three daughters Mrs Billy Jo Still Mrs Elizabeth Cooper both Ft Worth Tex and Mrs Mary West Francis three sons Stanley Norman Cletus and Clarence Wayne two sisters and four brothers and nine grandchildren.

Vona Ray Bottoms 26 previously of Egypt now Ada resident was coon hunting near Coalgate when a dead tree broke and he fell landing on his back with a head injury and minor wounds. He was treated at Coalgate hospital then transferred to Valley View Hospital where he was listed in fair condition at noon Thursday.

Frisco Tornado’s Death Toll and Devastation Remembered
Frisco still bears the scars of the May 9, 1959 tornado. Seven residents died and about $250000 in property damage. only Sid Thompson rebuilt on his old site while others relocated or delayed rebuilding. Twisted trees and damaged foundations remain visible.

County Native Frank Davis Named Acting Postmaster
Frank W. Davis a Pontotoc County native and Oklahoma University Law School graduate began duties as Acting Post Master of the Ada Post Office after the November death of Mary L. West. He took over at close of business Saturday and was named by the regional Post Office office in Wichita. Davis, a Francis High School and East Central State College alum, earned a history government degree in 1958 and later attended the University of Illinois and University of Oklahoma Law Schools, finishing with the 1959 degree. He was admitted to the bar in July 1959 and belongs to state and national bar associations. He expressed a commitment to delivering the best possible postal service.

A generally steady market and light selling marked Tuesday's Ada Livestock Auction. Cows and bulls advanced up to 50 cents while other classes held steady from last week. Receipts totaled 600 cattle and 200 hogs.
