Civilian Cupolaes By STERLING F. GREEN WASHINGTON
Shortages of copper and lead threaten civilian belt-tightening in 1945 as the War Production Board considers halving civilian copper and lead tonnages. Lead curtailment will affect batteries paint tetraethyl lead and other items while copper affects hooks eyes and farm accessories. Overall copper and lead supplies are strained but other metals and steel allocations are easing, with carbon steel civilian allotments dropping sharply for next quarter.
