Lou ise Hochman a 21 year old ad student at East Central State College shapes a 400 wood miniature using natural woods like pine walnut redwood and maple. Her carvings of domestic and wild animals show grace and polish born from talent and effort.
Purina will fund a Pontotoc Pontotoc cattle disease control program with Ada Veterinary Clinic led by Dr. D. E. Williams to support Purina nutritional research. Dr. W. R. Praska said vaccination, sanitation, parasite control, and pregnancy checks will protect herd health, while research covers external and internal parasites, vaccines, toxins, shipping fever, minerals, hormones, and breeding techniques. The contract emphasizes disease control as a secondary but essential support to nutrition studies.
Data from Nov 1961 to Nov 1962 report Pontotoc County tested 144 herds and 941 cattle with 2,525 calves vaccinated. Wayne W. Murphy 49 longtime Stonewall county resident and retired farmer died in an Ada hospital Monday at 11:20 p.m. He was born January 7, 1873 in Rutherford County Tennessee to Sara Houston Murphy and Rebecca Hanes Murphy. He moved to Stonewall about ten years ago and married Eula McCullough December 19 1894 in Manor Texas. He was a Woodmen of the World member and is survived by his wife Mrs. Eula May Murphy a son Wilton Murphy of Austin Texas and other relatives.
