The narrator recalls varied bosses, long hours, and fair or unfair treatment, noting how some managers pushed workers while others valued value received. He recounts a Texas oil mill job, issues of dime-store pay, and the ethics of labor, ending with local dairy market notes and a light item about Rube Geers and his misadventures with matrimony and ads.
