Ada Community Organization promotes a wartime bond auction at its barn west of Ada at 8 o clock. The event aims to boost purchases for the county's Sixth War Loan quota as final drives are under way.
A financial notice shows Tuesday sales of 13 650.00 with total to date 237 306.25. Other types report Tuesday sales 65 866.00 and cumulative total 605 082.62. The outstanding target amount listed is 1 054 000.00 with 842 388.87 recorded to date.

21st Bomber Command reports B29 bombers struck Nagoya midafternoon as the force equals or exceeds the largest unit yet used against Japan. Saipan based crews say Nagoya, a key war plants center, was a primary target in the mission.
Moscow dispatches report Soviet assault forces from Godollo 10 miles northeast of Budapest press toward the city while German defenders dig in on outskirts. Fire rages inside the capital as 400 Germans were killed in Godollo’s fall. Soviet gains include Sajoszentpeter near Miskolc and ten other towns in central Slovakia. Izvestia says Czechoslovakia near full liberation.
Norman Army airman 1/c James D. Blanton 24 of Trousdale died at Norman Naval hospital from injuries in an east Purcell crash. S/Sgt. John Adams of Ada in critical condition in Purcell hospital. Blanton was on leave from Pensacola Florida. Adams on furlough from Santa Ana California.
Oklahoma City dispatch reports Captain Ozell L. Smoot age 24, who led the first troops into Aachen, was killed November 17 in Germany. Ada News Want Ads carried the details.
