Wheat growers urge united stand on exports and legal challenge
Don Woodward of the National Association of Wheat Growers told the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers that wheat farmers must press leaders and unions to oppose export restrictions to the Soviet Union and elsewhere. He said a legal brief on presidential export powers is in preparation and could lead to a lawsuit, possibly needing about one million dollars to wage. He blamed price drops on the five year grain pact with the USSR and argued for either free production and exports or a return to controlled production with guaranteed prices.
