The Pontotoc County Medical Society and the Ada Jaycees sponsor a Sunday clinic at the National Guard Armory from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Type II Sabin oral vaccine will be offered to residents with pre-registration available in Friday's Ada Evening News. Adults and children may receive the vaccine. a 25 cent donation is requested to cover costs, but no one will be turned away.

Bar Shoe Stables north of Ada houses jockey Leon White and his 13-year helper Roy Dunn as they train ten quarter horse colts for New Mexico races. White, a 13-year veteran, now trains and rides the horses for owners Lee West and Dr. Leon Self, collecting a fee and rent after feed costs. Training starts in February with serious work ahead, aiming for races in Ruidoso, New Mexico, next spring and summer.
