Tom Vernon, a man with a long prison record, was captured at Pawnee Oklahoma after an alleged train wrecking incident. Police stated Vernon is in custody and faces formal charges.
Governor C. C. Young said he would telegram Governor Frank C. Emerson of Wyoming to grant California priority on Thomas Vernon, arrested in Oklahoma, so he can be tried as the suspect in the wreck and robbery of a Southern Pacific train near Saugus.
In Holdenville Oklahoma Tom Vernon a 43 year old ex cowboy and convict was arrested as a suspect in train robberies in California and Wyoming. He appeared before a county judge with hearings set for December 12 as authorities seek extradition.
Rescue crews remove wreckage after a Pennsylvania railroad excursion train from Cape Charles to New York derails near Onley Virginia.
