Baltimore. Captain Charles MacCutty, leader of the Dempsey camp, claims poison was put in Jack Dempsey’s coffee the Saturday before the Philadelphia fight with Gene Tunney, narrowly sealing a defeat.
Miss Rochelle Wharton of Ada is being treated for rabies after a dog bite last Thursday. State lab results confirmed infection from the dog's head, and she will receive serum treatment. Her physician hopes for recovery, with about a half month needed to judge outcome. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs L J Whorton.
Washington December 1 Tax reduction has become the leading theme in pre session deliberations as congressional leaders plan to reconvene Monday. Representative Garner of Texas Democratic taxation spokesman will present a tax reduction proposal supported by most Democrats though Garner and Garrett oppose the rebate plan. President Coolidge expects his suggestions to be considered in both houses, with White House aides noting discussions have begun without details disclosed.
Senator Harreld Republican Oklahoma reports campaign costs of 11810 for his defeated bid. He says 8550 was spent by his manager without knowledge before election. Personal spending 2000 not chargeable keeps total under the 10000 limit. Contributions include 3500 from the Republican senatorial committee and 2000 from Waite Phillips Tulsa.

Two teen cousins Thomas Wilson and Robert Brooks died/ were injured when a newly bought airplane piloted by Brooks nosedived 200 feet over Mrs. Wilson's home in Fort Worth. Brooks was unhurt while Wilson suffered injuries near the wing area. The aircraft was wrecked beyond repair.
Ada weekly cotton receipts averaged 100 bales daily pushing total past 7 000 bales. By Saturday John Ward reported 6 600 bales received by 2 30 pm with 1 000 round bales produced and 200 bales turned out by the Cotton Growers association. Prices held near 12 cents as fair weather aided steady picking and neighbor helping.
The Pontotoc County district received strong commendation for its religious work in colleges, high schools, and rural communities at a Oklahoma City meeting of college representatives and religious workers. Ada delegates included Dr A Linscheid and Reverends Blackburn, Johnstone, and Whitwell. A key feature was a planned statewide religious survey.

J E Seymour, 41, his wife Carnier 37, son Grarden 13, son Kendall 11, infant Melvin 8 months were killed at a farm near Marlow. The coroner says Seymour committed the deed before an Oklahoma City sanity exam. The fire destroyed the house, bodies found as neighbors fought the blaze.
Stores will stay open Friday evening until 8 o clock as announced by J E Williams secretary of the Retail Merchants association. The Christmas window unveiling is set for 7 o'clock and merchants invite town and county residents to view displays visit shops and shop if they wish. No extra program beyond window displays and open stores.

Dick Campbell is bound over for trial on a murder charge in the shooting death of Arlie Patterson. In a preliminary hearing before Justice H. J. Brown eight witnesses testified that Campbell fired through a wall at Carnes home where Patterson sought her husband. Patterson was wounded November 4 and died more than two weeks later.
Robert Heathley and Onie Heathley waived arraignment in justice court and were released on bonds of 500 dollars each on a bigamy charge. Perry Filmore, former husband of Onie, says the pair wed in Texas at Dallas before a six month divorce waiting period expired. The couple resides in Pontotoc County.
Thoroughbred steers led by Rupert B Hereford from Oklahoma A and M college sold to high bidders at the International Livestock Exhibit. The grand champion is expected to go on the block with class winners tomorrow.
