Long Search Ends With Finding Body Of Man In Lake
Everett Turner, 68, drowned while fishing near Tupelo, was found in a lake west and south of Tupelo after hours of searching by three boats and Ada Fire Department divers. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Smith Funeral Home of Ada. Turner and his son Hubert Turner were trolling when a boat sank. Turner was pulled toward shore but exhausted and released. The Ada Community Chest elected Rev. Mitchell Epperson as president with Homer Peay as first vice president and other officers including L. L. Leasure and J. A. Richardson. A new board was named with members such as Bill Gluckman and Mrs. Katie Knott. Gluckman was named funds drive chairman with plans for a drive in October.

Four Killed in Bus and Truck Collision
Four people die and 25 are injured in a collision near Stockton California as a Greyhound bus and a grape truck crash. Victims include bus driver Grady L. Goodwin 37 and truck driver William D.
