Geo H Perry Dies After Drinking Carbolic Acid
Last Saturday Geo H Perry a prominent Chickasaw citizen near Stonewall drank carbolic acid and died instantly. He left a wife seven children and was said to have sent men to a hay field earlier that day. The motive remains uncertain though his statement to his son hinted at poisoning himself. Physicians arrived too late and many relatives gathered for the case.

James M. Givens received word from Washington that the Secretary of the Interior approved the first oil lease in the Indian Territory. Albert McKellop leased 160 acres near Muskogee to Gusey & Gailey, with Givens as their attorney.
