Dairymen Meet at Roff for Fall Milk Market Outlook
About 100 dairy farmers attended the second Dairy Producers meeting at Roff High School gym last week. Bud Graves sponsored the session to discuss the fall milk market. Cheabie Graham of the Oklahoma Milk Producers Association warned about drought impact and the need for rain within weeks. He urged statewide drought designation rather than county by county relief and criticized politicized relief decisions. Graham likened agriculture groups to a football, in direct contact with the public and officials. The fall milk market looks good only when supply is tight.

Five Take Honors At Beef Judging At Shipe Angus Ranch
McLish won top honors at the 4 H Beef Judging School and picnic held at the Shipe Angus Ranch south of Fitts town. 4 H members, including Lee George Latta James McDaniel and others, judged cattle and gave reasons for placements before a swim and picnic lunch. The People's Electric Co op of Ada secured a $500000 REA loan to extend service to about 600 new customers across ten counties Pontotoc Hughes Johnston Coal Garvin Murray Atoka Seminole McLain and Carter. The plan includes 150 miles of new distribution lines and a newAda headquarters plus energized Sulphur substation with two more under construction at Allen and Troy.

Washington reports the new farm bill maintains price supports for next year's livestock feed and grains with a flexible corn support range from 82 to 90 percent of parity, then 75 to 90 percent. Other feeds stay at zero to 9 percent of parity at secretary of agriculture discretion. Drought lowers this year's corn crop, possibly easing surplus pressure and keeping 1955 corn supports above 86 percent of parity.
