Masonic Dormitory at U of Oklahoma Opens to All Men
The University of Oklahoma Masonic dormitory will admit any male student for the 1926 27 year with room rent cut from 120 to 80 dollars. Built in 1921 by Scottish Rite bodies of McAlester at a cost of 276000 the dormitory formerly served sons of Masons and DeMolay members. Arthur Miller and his wife were named managers for the year. Bevels Shot at Ada Home. Suspect Stokes in Custody
Ted Bevels is hospitalized in Ada with a shotgun wound to the right side and a fair chance of recovery. Shorty Stokes, an older neighbor, is in custody after an early Sunday morning shooting near the South Canadian river north of old Tyrola. A shotgun was found about 25 feet from Bevels, along with Bevels hat and a .25 automatic. Stokes fled across the river after the incident.

W. S. Elkins of Centrahoma suffered the loss of his left foot and left hand in a shotgun discharge while tying a shoestring before a squirrel hunt. The injuries occurred about 7:35 am as the gun slipped from his shoulder and discharged on the steps, amputating the foot above the ankle and the hand above the wrist. Elkins, a World War veteran with a wife and five children, was rushed to Ada hospital for treatment.
