Oil activity expands north of Ada with four new drill sites and multiple rigs. In the Allen field five tests await results to decide production, while the Slick gusher near Ada resumes strong output and a 800 barrel daily rate after a cavern issue.
News from Boston reports Governor Fuller refused to intervene in the Sacco and Vanzetti case. The condemned duo refused breakfast as fear of execution loomed, with Judge Thayer also denying a stay. Labor protests and sympathy strikes spread nationwide as appeals appeared exhausted.

Monday report from Ada notes Stringer No 2 in 28-5-6 shows substantial oil in Viola lime with potential Wilcox sand relevance. Conservation Oil Co discovery well in 21-5-6 producing about 50 barrels per hour free of water. Allen field wells increasing with six producers and a larger drilling push anticipated in sections 16 21 20 and 17 township 5 north 8 east.
Sulphur high school and its contents were almost completely destroyed by fire Thursday. The loss is estimated at 65,000 dollars, partially covered by insurance. Origin of the flames is unknown.

The Con servation Oil company well in section 21 5 6 roared back yesterday afternoon after 40 hours dormant. By 2 30 this afternoon it flowed 50 barrels per hour and earlier had produced 800 barrels in three and a half hours. Pressure blew out a swab from the eight inch casing as operators fought to control the gusher and reroute production to a new line to Sinclair above Maud.

WEWOKA August 5 eight persons charged with narcotics possession pleaded guilty before Judge Orel Busby of Pontotoc county and were sentenced to terms in the state penitentiary.
New York August 8 government crop report showed cotton yield about 1,000,000 bales below general expectation. The news triggered wild buying when trading resumed at the cotton exchange, pushing prices up the full limit of 200 points from the morning low.
Washington reports this season's cotton ginned before August 1 reached 162 778 running bales, up from 47 770 bales a year earlier, per the Census Bureau's first ginning report of the season.
Tulsa August 9 Crude oil production fell sharply in the past week per the Oil and Gas Journal. The average daily drop was 18 420 barrels with 2 568 685 barrels produced for the week ending August 6 down from 2 587 105 for the week ending July 30. In Oklahoma every field except Garber and Wewoka declined Seminole fell 7 675 barrels and the state total loss was 8 855 barrels.
Early today rumors spread in Ada that Oklahoma City suffered a Monday night storm. The News contacted the Associated Press in Oklahoma City, which stated no storm occurred.
