The Vanoss FFA dairy judging team won Gaylord's Guernsey contest in Oklahoma City with Trent Briggs as high individual and Butch Sutton third. Sutton won a production contest, Pedersen led in a Jene Mungie event, and Stonecipher placed. The team also swept the Southeast district at Wilburton and topped 50 teams at Akotka.

Stonewall Baptists Prepare Ground for New Building
The First Baptist Church of Stonewall has torn down its old educational building in two weeks of volunteer labor to clear space for a new facility. Groundbreaking is set for next Sunday July 13 at 2 p.m. Rev Mack Caffey will lead the ceremony with I P Willingham turning the first dirt. Members recall the church founded in 1905 and the original structure built by voluntary labor in 1911 or 1912.

Frisco Boy And Hound Chase Take To Lake Night Hunt
Bob Byrd and his three dogs hunted July 4 when a blue tick hound wandered off. The dog treed a coon over Sportsman Lake and refused to leave. Byrd swam to the middle of the lake to bring the hound back to shore, leaving the coon up the tree.

Nearly 100 Polled Hereford breeders completed a two day tour with a Ada luncheon and a visit to Blair Polled Hereford Ranch west of the city. The Oklahoma Polled Hereford Association organized stops at nine ranches giving observers a view of ten herds. Les Blair and sons showcased cattle including Domestic Mischief 17th while R W Burleson moved cattle to the Blair Ranch for the event.
