Peppers flourish with 60–75 degree nights and 75 degree days though blossoms drop above 90. Space seeds or transplants 24 inches apart in 30 to 36 inch rows. For containers use Early Bountiful Vinette and hot varieties Red Chili Fresno Chili. Harvest mature peppers green red or yellow, then dry freeze or can for winter use.

Ada plant shut last Friday for a week as Jim Gurch, plant manager, announced a temporary closure to review manpower and reduce production. The move comes amid weak demand and business uncertainty impacting mobile home makers along with higher interest rates and tight credit.
A survey of Americans aged 14 to 25 shows 75 percent worry about the nation's future while seven in ten feel their own prospects are good. The gap widens with age, with 74 percent of 22 to 26 year olds confident in their personal future, and 67 percent of under 17 hopeful about theirs.
