The Pontotoc County Soil Conservation District is honored among over 2,800 districts by a commemorative soil conservation stamp from the Post Office Department. Stamp release is August 2 in Rapid City South Carolina at the Soil Conservation Society of America meeting and will be sold at local post offices the next day.

Joe Robertson Services Held At Oil Center
Funeral services for Joe Robertson 58 of Oil Center were held Monday afternoon at the Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in Rosedale Cemetery. Rev. B. V. Pendley Rev. Russell West and Rev. FE. J. Mencer conducted the service. Pallbearers were Hansel P C Henson Ray Lamb Tucker Woods and M C Cox. Robertson had been a pumper in the oil field for many years. Survivors include wife Bee, one son Billy J. Robertson Route 2 Ada, one granddaughter, three sisters Lena Soward Ada Irdell Brastad New Port Beach Calif and Hattie Spurlock Los Angeles, and one brother Otto Robertson Decour Calif. Funeral arrangements were by Criswell Funeral Home.
