Twenty eight injured when northbound Frisco passenger train No 510 derailed seven miles north of Wetumka Oklahoma at 9 pm. Most injuries were minor with several white workers among the injured and a special train sent from Sapaipa to retrieve passengers and mail.
Indianapolis July 31 The Indiana Progressive Party state convention plans a full ticket advocating woman suffrage initiative referendum recall a minimum wage for women and direct election of US senators. They hope Albert J Beveridge accepts the governor bid with possible alternates Frederick Landis or Horace C Stilwell if he declines.
Danville Illinois July 31 Mary M Whitlock now in Detroit once sheriff here repulsed a mob threatening lynching of a negro. He was fined 76000 for embezzling 37500 while treasurer after term ended. He pleaded guilty and must pay 402 monthly until settled, which would take 156 years and 3 months. He is 58.
The District Court of Ada Oklahoma notices that on August 1 1912 the Ada Ice and Fuel Company filed for dissolution. An order directed publication and a hearing date will be set after 30 days of publication. Witnessed by Clerk Cox and attorney J F McKeel.
The planned Woodman picnic will run Friday and Saturday on the Oak grovers athletic grounds south of the Normal building. Activities begin at 10 AM with addresses grills parades and a visiting team from outside the county. The event promises a wide program and community participation.
A citizen meeting was held to organize a country club. The city reservoir lease deal is closed and plans include a club house and natatorium with a road to town first. Charter members pay 50 dollars, 16 down and 5 monthly installments. Officers elected: Geo. H. Rice president WK Chaney vice president C S Wood secretary C J Warren treasurer. Committees are to be formed to handle details, and organizers hope no one shirks duties. The town faces humiliation if the effort fails and warns the event benefits Atta.

Oklahoma City July 30 The State Bankers Association decided to form a clearing house organization to handle its business affairs as a strictly business entity. Each state bank will hold stock and have one vote. an executive committee of seven will run the group with H M Spaulding of Enid as chairman and John J Gerlach of Woodward as secretary. The group will maintain the current state bankers section and officers, add the new committee, and discuss bank guaranty law amendments without action. Bankers urged relief from costly governance and welcomed removing politics from the banking board’ s influence.
Gov Cruce orders removal of Scott Glenn Frank Hayes and State Treasurer Robert Dunlop from the State Board of Education at 9 am. Brandenburg resigns but Cruce refuses to accept. Superintendent Wilson told nothing of the removals. Board adopts five year book contracts amid dispute.
Fred W. Parkinson of Wagoner is appointed to fill the unexpired term of the late Charles A. Taylor as State Examiner and Inspector. He will be sworn in August 1, with Hugh Gerner continuing interim duties. Parkinson, then State School Land Department adjuster, previously chaired the Indian Territory Democratic committee and earned broad official backing.

Charley Daggs has patented a device to automatically control windmills. A spring driven piston in a cylinder, linked to the pump and mill via chains, starts and stops the mill as water level changes. He also patents improved windmill gearing considered superior to prior designs.
The Oklahoma Portland Cement Co invites hundreds of Pontotoc County farmers to a Lawrence event on August 5 and 8 to demonstrate silage using Indian corn. The letter promises experts and required politics-free sessions to show winter feed savings with silage.
The summer term ends tomorrow to allow instructors to finish grade work by Friday night. About five hundred teachers have attended and counties form East Central clubs to boost the Normals. A new motor will be installed in the printery, and the annual bulletin is under preparation for distribution in two to three weeks. Prof. M. L. Perkins reports Oklahoma City talks between Governor Cruce and the state board of education, with sympathy seen for the board. Normal boarding club manager Mr. Price closes two lots north of the building.
Dallas data shows ongoing returns from the Democratic primary. Counts strengthen for Wolters in the U S Senate race and Colquitt for governor while Lane and Barker contest Comptroller and Attorney General remains doubtful. Final county totals to follow.
