In Ardmore on April 24 Special, Pat Whitheld was ordered held without bond for trial in district court after a preliminary hearing on murder charges in the death of Otto Herndon. Herndon was shot on downtown street several days ago as the defense attempted to show a set defense. The state declined that claim.
Notice is given that in pursuance of an order on sale issued by the District Court of Pontotoc County Oklahoma on April 1925 American Jur pany Wa and Tichie Alsman James V ivian and First National Tank 2 of Ada Oklahoma were defendants directed to me as sheriff to advertise and sell without appraisal the Northeast Quarter of Northwest Quarter Section 36 Township 4 North Range 4 East Pontotoc County Oklahoma to satisfy a judgment in favor of plaintiff obtained October 14 1924 for 145.3 with interest at ten percent from October 1 1922 plus 50 attorney fees and costs. The sale is set for May 25 1925 at 2 o clock PM at the north door of the county courthouse Ada Oklahoma. The property may be sold subject to a first mortgage of 700 plus interest and taxes. Witnessed April 24 1925 by undersheriff and attorneys.
Walter F. Downs, superintendent of schools at Poteas, is named president of the Oklahoma military academy at Claremore. The appointment was announced by David H. Markham adjutant general of the Oklahoma national guard and board of regents. Downs succeeds W. Ryan.
