Reeves Opens Huge New Cattle Feedlot Near Ada
Reeves Packing Co expands in Pontotoc County with a 240 acre feedlot east of SH 99 two miles south of Ahloso. The baby of Everett Reeves, the facility aims to feed and fatten cattle efficiently, expanding operations from the Ada meat plant. A 160 by 100 foot barn houses 17 feeding pens and bulk grain storage, with a 40 by 200 foot wing and open pass gate along the south wing.

Four H Members Compete In Broiler Show
Four H club youths, about 60 county members, will present dressed broilers for the third annual broiler show and contest next Thursday at the Student Union Building. Entrants submit four top birds judged by Dr. George Newell. Winners to be announced at the exhibition run by Emer son Black with help from Mrs. Margaret Stettler.

Farmers Sign Up On New Grain Program
Farmers in Pontotoc County sign up for the 1961 feed grain program chaired by Guy Pegg of the ASC. The plan pays corn and grain sorghum producers who divert acreage to approved conservation uses, with county average payments of 23.40 per acre for corn and 17.50 for sorghum, minimum 20 percent reductions below the 1959 60 base.

WIRF Loans Climb Steadily Amid Campaign Efforts
WIRF loans have risen to 425 825 in wire offers excluding two banks contributions. First National Bank and Trust Co and Oklahoma State Bank pledged 1 500 each with a 22 000 goal. If the goal is reached funds come from lenders pro rata. Yel Bumpers chairs the WIRF drive, stressing these are loans not gifts.
