Wayne Holland of Vaness and Eldon Lee of Latta are finalists, with governor Raymond Gary set to present the degree. Research Station Field Day Plans Near Coalgate
The Southeastern Pasture Fertility Station near Coalgate will host a field day on April 20 to highlight pastures from research during drought years. Dr. J Lynd notes cool season grasses like brome fescue and alfalfa provide year round grazing while vetch clovers with bermuda respond to potassium. The 68 acre station shows typical central and eastern Oklahoma pasture types, with nursery plots small tests and large acreages. A chemical drench treatment for internal parasites and grub control in beef cattle will be featured. Dr. Luther H Brannon and Dr. L Hawkins chair sessions and discuss soil improvement and experimental work by A&M extension agronomists.

Stonewall Rodeo Show Set Sunday
The Stonewall Chamber of Commerce will stage its annual rodeo on Sunday April 28 weather permitting. Featured event is a matched steer roping with Dick Truitt Everett Shaw Clark McIntyre and Jim Saively as competitors. Sheriff Bill Broadrick will award the Kids calf riding trophy. Driver Fined After Guilty Plea in County Court
A driver charged with reckless driving appeared in county court before County Judge Fred Andrews on April 15 and pleaded guilty. He was fined 25 dollars plus court costs or 20.05 dollars, which he paid in open court.

Stonewall Day Set for May 26 Second Annual Homecoming
Preparations for Stonewall Day progress as the event shifts from Old Timers Reunion to a inclusive celebration on Sunday May 26. Organizer Mrs Anne Young and co organizer Mrs Lulu Darnell rally residents of Stonewall and nearby communities with the Stonewall Sportsmen's Club backing the effort. The 1956 gathering formed a permanent group with officers W W Woolley president Mrs John McCoy secretary and Mrs Simon Patton treasurer. Woolley likely away this year left Young in charge.

Deadline set for wool payment filings in 1956 program
Wool and lamb producers must file applications for payment under the 1956 wool incentive payment program by April 30. Chairman W. W. Gibson, Pontotoc County ASC, says applications are due at the County ASC Office. Payments cover wool and lamb sales from April 1, 1956 to March 31, 1957. 1957 program runs April 1, 1957 to March 31, 1958.
