Deputy Roff, with Col H C Mitchell, captured a copper distillery about five o clock near Mart, containing 50 gallons and with 400 gallons of mash poured out. Five gallons of corn whiskey were seized, and arrest prospects loom as the search for the hoose factory continues. A second seizure occurred two weeks ago seven miles northwest of Hoff, with 160 gallons of mash discarded and two arrests made.

Oklahoma City April 7 The State Federation of Labor announced the result of its recent section of officers and declared that neither candidate for president secretary second vice president nor fourth vice president received a majority. Thus another election must be held for the three offices. Victor S Purdy was re elected secretary treasurer by a larger majority over seven opponents. Other successful candidates were George Woolman painter first vice president Mac Erbacher garment worker third vice president and B N Ferguson re elected fifth vice president.

In Wagoner Oklahoma Friday night Harry B. Burton former mayor of Kansas City Kansas his brother Charles and Major J C Scott were arrested on prohibition charges. A deputy officer report says two gallons of liquor were found in a motor car. Burton pleaded for no publicity saying it would ruin him politically. Scott claimed liquor and car were his property and that the Burtons were his guests. The car was confiscated and Burton was released Scott is held on a $5000 bond awaiting next term.

Cotton Gin Utilities department saves farmers money
Oklahoma City April 16 Special It is estimated that 35.60 per bale or total of 5 million dollars on a normal cotton crop will be saved to cotton farmers through the Cotton Gin Utilities department of the Corporation Commission. The department operates under House Bill 254 and will supervise gins to ensure farmers receive good cotton. Licenses cost 3 cents per bale based on prior ginnings. In Texas similar service saved about 5.00 per bale. in Oklahoma last year 343 gins were inspected with 53 defect free.
