Shawnee residents watched a muddy creek turn deadly after a cloudburst. Two more bodies were recovered, bringing the death toll to four with six expected, as about 1,000 were left homeless and damage neared one hundred thousand dollars after water rose ten feet.
A Shawnee cloudburst swept through the city last night leaving two confirmed dead and more than 12 missing or feared dead. Rescue workers, aided by 250 volunteers and utility crews, found the bodies of Mrs. Joseph Campbell and John Lewis among extensive flood damage and homelessness numbering above 1,000.
March shows a meager .50 inch rainfall from Old Jupiter Pluvius while Old Boreas kept the thermometer near 29 degrees. The high reached 88 degrees with 21 fair days, five cloudy, and five partly cloudy. Past March totals varied from .85 to 4.18 inches, with three month year-to-date precipitation at 49 inches versus 10.62 a year ago.

Mrs. Ray W. Thompson, 34, was held in Creek county jail awaiting murder charges in the death of her husband. Thompson shot him in a hotel Sunday morning, then attempted suicide before hotel guests intervened. Authorities report no motive yet.

Homer Pennequine former Avant officer convicted of slaying Ben Avant after a dispute over a horse tethering was paroled today by Governor Johnston in Oklahoma City. Convicted in Osage county in 1924 and sentenced to five years, he had been on leaves of absence and the clemency was supported by state officials. A juror noted the conviction hinged on two notches cut in Pennequine's pistol handle.
Tulsa and Miami men Grant McCullough and Scott Thompson were considered probable delegates at the national Republican convention. J Denton was mentioned for endorsement as delegate at large. Ten counties would be represented at the Tulsa meeting this afternoon.
A gambling hall rating in the business district of Allen Hays appeared before the court around 9 o clock Friday evening and the matter was disposed of quickly.
Oklahoma City April 10 AP seating of both Tulsa county delegations in the temporary organization of the state Democratic convention was recommended by the state executive committee. Each member would have a half vote under the plan, with both sides reportedly dissatisfied and holding talks.

A tornado struck three miles west of Duncan yesterday afternoon demolishing a storm cave adjacent to Stage Stand schoolhouse after placing 45 pupils inside. The storm damaged over 20 homes and tore foundations along a two by five mile strip, causing thousands of dollars in damage. all children were safe.
