Marines Recapture Carson Hill After Heavy Chinese Assault
American Marines clawed back control of Carson Hill eight miles east of Panmunjom after 300 to 350 Reds overran the outpost in a predawn assault. A Marine spokesman said some defenders fought through the attack. 220 Chinese were reported killed or wounded. A relief force moved up and by 8:35 a.m. the hill was secured as B29s hit a Red supply dump near Taechon.
