In Harlan Kentucky March 29 officers and possemen returning from Beech Creek report a fatal confrontation with the Strong family. Deputy Kelly Walker and Isaac, George Strong, and Mrs George Strong died as a hidden marksman shot Walker. Children escaped unharmed as two stills and 700 gallons of beer were found and destroyed.

Bellis Plans to Erect Compress Here This Spring and Summer
H. M. Bellis stopped in Ada on route from Dallas to Cushing and announced the compress will be built here this spring and summer. Lumber and part of the equipment have shipped. Five acres of land in the industrial site are now in the bank with R. W. Simpson as trustee. The site lies between the joint railroad track and the Katy track north of the American Glass factory. Bellis has deposited 20000 dollars in a local bank as evidence of good faith.
