Tar lan Wilke Stone of New York has been selected by President Coolidge as attorney general. He has served since 1919 as dean of Columbia University Law School and recently resigned to join the law firm Satterlee Canfield Stone. Stone is a Republican and director of several railroads and corporations.
The Oklahoma impeachment proceeding shows managers seeking final argument after a board vote. Whitehurst’s counsel indicates they may allow rebuttal time, with Whitehurst set to close after the recess. Managers hint at waiving further arguments as senators prepare to vote tomorrow evening.

Oklahoma City reports a deadly tornado battering Shawnee and central districts, leaving eight dead and hundreds of thousands in property damage. Enid Guthrie and other towns also suffer significant losses. Shawnee’s two block by twelve block devastation includes churches and homes twisted into debris. National guardsmen aid relief as homeless reach about seven hundred.
Washington March 31 Harry E F Sinclair a dessee of Ten Tor Dome was indicted by a federal grand jury today on contempt charges stemming from his refusal to testify before Senate committees in a high profile case involving the oil industry and corporate power.

Ada’s city election ended with Walter Smith defeating Henry Kroth for Commissioner of Public Works and Property. Robert Bradley won school board against R F Wilbourn. Total votes 2458 in Smith Kroth race, 2000 Bradley Wilbourn, with mayoral continuity and expected staff changes after May 4.
The Norman Howard post American Legion will oversee the Glenwood Turk pool this summer and plans a grand opening on May 1 with a mermaid plunge. The post will repair the bath house and ensure the pool is ready for the season, managing recreation at the center to attract bathers while promoting wholesome enjoyment.
