Candidacy Rush as Primary Filing Ends

Yesterday marked the final day for party petition filings with Socialists submitting their pre-nominated ticket and Democrats filing in droves. A single Republican, W. C. Cummings, announced plans to run for county office.

Coffeyville Boosters Visit Ada in Oklahoma Talk

Coffeyville Kansas boosters arrived in Ada at eleven o clock. They were greeted by Ada citizens at Main and Broadway and welcomed with a city address. Fred Benefield, former state senator, replied briefly before tours along 12th street and back to the depot.

Otis B. Weaver Sued for Thirty Thousand Damages

Tuesday morning Sam Harris filed suit against Otis B. Weaver for 30000 damages. Five thousand dollars claims arise from a disturbance at a hotel. twenty five thousand from a News article about a raid by officers. Attorneys for the plaintiff are T. P. Holt Ada Wolf Hare Maxey and J. F. Holt Sherman.

The county convention will nominate for county offices on Saturday. Filing deadline was the 23rd and the chaotic election laws may allow a way to place the ticket. Rumors name H. A. Floyd seeks reelection as township trustee or assessor

J R Floyd announces his candidacy for re election to the office of township trustee or assessor in Chickasaw Township. He has lived in the county for fourteen years at Allen Ada and Egypt and says his tax rolls and records show credit to himself and the township. He asks voters to consider his record in the August primary.

Robertson Withdraws From Governor Race

Judge J B A Robertson of Chandler withdraws from the race for governor citing exhausted legal campaign funds and the public mood as reasons he cannot win. He says he will run again in four years and remains encouraged by the support he has received.

Socialist State Encampment Opens July Four At Ada

The Socialist State Encampment will be held July 4 5 and 6 in Ada and promises the largest gathering of attractions yet. Nationally known speakers from various states will discuss moving from poverty to plenty. Steam swing and many other attractions will entertain attendees with stand privileges available through Wm. McDaniel.
