Ardmore figure Lee Cruce, defeated gubernatorial candidate, delivers a unifying convention address. He pledges harmony, laments overconfidence, vows to oppose the Republicans harder, and urges broad support for Democratic nominees amid praise from Oklahoma Democrats.
Delegates from every Oklahoma and Indian Territory county met in Oklahoma City to draft a platform and ratify primary nominations. The plank supports statehood goals, local self government, school funding, land sales on fair terms, tribal funds, and referendums on prohibition and federal controls.
Night policemen Geo Culver and Tom Dodgins raided a lodging house on Main street catching five men at a social game of draw. The players bonded for court, the table and cards were burned in the street, and city officials pledged enforcement of ordinances.
A report from Coalgate notes that Tom Dodgin was listed as a passenger in a recent event yesterday. The brief mentions no injuries or legal actions and focuses on his involvement as a passenger.
The Confederate veterans of the Oklahoma and Indian Territory departments plan a joint reunion at South McAlester on August 19 to 21. Generals John W. Jordan and John Threadgill met in Oklahoma City to finalize dates and location for the amalgamation ahead of statehood.
The seventeenth annual Oklahoma Christian Endeavor Union convention met in Oklahoma City for three days this week with over 200 delegates. Ada sent four representatives Ada names included Orel Harper and Gilbert Reed among others. Elder Kirtley spoke as a local church minister. Principal speakers were General Secretary Wm. Shaw of Boston and Dr. A. E. Turner of Waxahachie Texas.
Voters from the two Ada boxes met in convention to elect delegates to the county convention. The county body organized at the courthouse naming H. M. Furman as chairman and Sam McClure as secretary. The slate for the state convention included L. J. Shook, Sam McClure, T. J. Smith, L. R. Boyd, Tucker George, L. C. Oliver, J. C. Cates, P. H. Deal, Dr. G. H. Truax, Dave Crabtree, E. S. Ratliff, and others. Most delegates rode the afternoon train to Oklahoma City for the convention. No deaths by suicide reported among the delegates.
The revival at the Christian church ended Sunday night with about thirty new members. Monday night evangelists lectured on the life of Christ using a stereopticon, drawing a large appreciative audience.

Dr T H Granger a popular young professional wed Emma Ernstmeyer of Chamois Missouri at that city on Tuesday June 11. The couple returned to Ada to start life together and the doctor has a flourishing dentistry business. He is described as refined and moral with many friends who extend congratulations.
Rev. M. M. Rippey, assisting at the district revival at the Methodist church, left Wednesday to attend district conference. Rev. T. L. Rippey continues leading the meeting through next week with several conversions reported.
Doctor N B Shands was injured Monday afternoon near the Abbott farm seven miles south of town. While dispatching a snake he was struck by the reptile and fell onto barbed wire, fracturing a bone in his arm. The accident occurred as he spoke with residents on a veranda.
