The Civilian Club members, renowned for refined vocal talent, have organized a rich program for a concert at the city opera house next Monday night. Local ladies promise a thoroughly delightful evening of first class vocal music with a carefully arranged and elaborate program.
A late Wednesday report describes a fatal Katy wreck near Ware a few miles north of Denison. Officials know little about details but state a dead end collision between two freight trains killed conductor Burch Berkel. Katy trains arrived yesterday via the Frisco line.
The local U D C chapter met at the veterans hall last Saturday. A reorganization elected officers Mrs Tom Hops as President Mrs Dr McMillan as Vice President Mrs Cloyd Recording Sec Mrs W W Sledge Corresponding Sec and Mrs Welborn as Treasurer. The group decided to secure crosses of honor for the veterans without delay.

Chairman J. T. Conn issues a call to township committeemen of the Sixteenth District to meet in Ada on Wednesday February 20 at 2 p.m. A new county committee will be formed and the new plan of organization explained by Hon. D. B. Frear, state organizer.
An Egypt school box supper on January 31 featured recitations by Gladys and Gradie Griffith and Garnett Griffith with music by Bowers, Pruitt and others. Boxes sold well, a cake for queen of beauty drew strong bids, and Miss Lillie Martin edged Julia Myers by four votes after a 400 vote tally. receipts reached 72 dollars.
The Cummings Barnett Co warehouse at Allen burned with about $1500 in damage and no insurance. Authorities suspect an incendiary. At Guthrie, B H Epperson joined the state bar association committee on commercial law. Dr S J Martin returned from New York after attending lectures.
