Stakeholders in Oklahoma favor no referendum on Ada State Normal issues. The Ada campus faced $100,000 modernization plans as labor and farmers unions back expanded education, while Campbell Russell opposed referendum on Ada and other institutions. Labor leaders urged state support and continued legislative funding for construction and upkeep.
The district court adjourned the Putnam murder case until Monday. A six weeks’ postponement was ordered as the proceedings move toward trial in Trin. Local officials and attorneys expect further action on the case when court resumes.

Bank of Morris president W E Kittle, arrested at Lambert, charged with issuing warrants to place as collateral with Commercial National Bank of Muskogee. Remanded to jail in default of a $5,000 bond as Muskogee banks prepare to take over Morris bank and keep it open. Also noted are scattered items about a wife murderer case in Lawton and a Comanche county jail incident with a judge’s ruling cited as unusually cold in Oklahoma crime reports.

Guthrie, May 25. A group of Republican politicians seeks to portray the new election amendments as prejudice against the Taylor registration law. The measure requires country district registration to curb bloc voting by transient or immigrant Negro voters. The law protects qualified residents, with only repeaters, illiterates, or specially imported voters barred.
May 25. In Muskogee county the special Federal Grand Jury session progresses with about thirty witnesses yet to be heard. Today 29 witnesses testified, including attendees from New York Nashville New Harmony Jad Wanseon Delta Ottawa Toledo Chicago Hastings Mich. and St Louis. A St Louis postal official was heard this afternoon by arrangement.
The school board approved the contract for the North Ada project approving Lindsey to lead the work at an estimated cost of 10 000 dollars. The project includes a new building with steam heat plants and will move the city forward. The board commends the decision as meeting the town’s educational ambitions.
Twenty five representatives of the People's Initiative and referendum league of Oklahoma met at the Labor Union hall Tuesday night to plot the campaign for the coming year. They debated a usury bill proposed to set a ten percent annual rate with penalties and the legislative repeal clause for initiative propositions. The convention, largely farmers, discussed recall of nonperforming legislators and sought broad public participation, with speakers including Rep. H.R. Glover and Senators N. M. Colle and Campbell Russell.
City engineer and inspector Hill confirm fifteen men were employed on average yesterday at the sewerage works, with twelve in the forenoon and seventeen in the afternoon.
