Mack Lee of near Cilia was jailed on a warrant linking him to the Scribner murder and the Putnam case. Authorities say the two crimes are connected, with the Scribner killing seen as the sequel to the Putnam murder. The grand jury investigation will probe possible guilt among several parties. Lee, a farmer and stock man, is a Farmers State Bank director and R C Couch’s son in law.
