In Muskogee Oklahoma James J Hoffman a former hotel proprietor shot four times in a duel of belief he had killed Malcolm Hunter who tried to stop him from seeing his separated wife. Hunter survived and Hoffman died by his own hand. Mrs Hoffman was hit by a stray bullet in the arm.
