The women’s home mission conference meets in Ada with many prominent visitors honoring the town. Leaders discuss plans and activities for church outreach and community service.
101 delegates attend a powerful Oklahoma conference led by women from Muskogee to Ardmore. The opening program featured Mrs G B Hester and Mrs R K Triplet with strong reports by the Corresponding Secretary and Treasurer, praise for organization growth, and lively afternoon sessions. Mrs Campbell arrived to preside and Miss Head led a notable question box while social meals drew praise. Mrs Grass Alexander of Nashville is set to lead the devotional hour and her husband recently became editor of a major periodical.
Judge Ralph Campbell in Muskogee granted a temporary order for the United States to restrain 22 counties in Eastern Oklahoma from collecting taxes on restricted minor and full blood Indian lands. The order is returnable July 18. The government says county officials plan to sell lands non taxable under the enabling act, involving lands valued in the millions.
Daniel A. Per Lee, State Agent for the Franklin Fire Insurance Co., arrived in the city today and joined forces with local agent Otis Weaver to plant the Splendid company.

The Ohio Chicago river committee coordinated rates, with routes from Chicago and Milwaukee to Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, plus additional water and rail rates approved by the Interstate Commerce Commission.
Texarkana Ark June 1 The plant of the International Lumber and Creosoting Company and adjacent stock were destroyed by fire just before midnight. Creosote totaling 125000 gallons and twenty eight carloads of creosoted crosettes along with raw materials burned. Estimated loss about 750600 dollars.
Washington reports Oklahoma representatives defeated a House move to turn Platt National Park near Sulphur over to the state. The appropriations panel sought to shift maintenance costs to Oklahoma, but four Oklahoma congressmen and Rep McGuire won a point of order, keeping the park under federal protection and funding.
Washington reports a southwest hot wave moving slowly eastward through the gulf states and expected to reach the coast in two to three days. Forecasters predict cool, fair weather in the east until arrival. Texas records up to 100 degrees in the shade as the heat spreads inland.
