Ort on Mrs A L Atton spent the week end in Toronto. Two Red Cross quilts finished at Atson Hall by village ladies. Mr and Mrs A Mordan returned from a week motor trip through North Bay Ottawa and the St Lawrence. Mrs Lloyd Lyons and Erin visited her parents and relatives with several others motor to Owen Sound. Mr and Mrs Wm Lallentine and boys visited friends in St Catharines. Len and Ewart Bessey and others spent Sunday in Mitchell. Young folk attended Red Cross dance in Marsville. Mr and Mrs Pred McCutcheon Acton spent Sunday with Wm Ballentine. Preparations for anniversary services in the United Church next Sunday. Wedding bells ring again in the village.

Anniversary services drew strong attendance at the Presbyterian Church with Rev E A Thomason of Elora and Rev A H Whan of the United Church leading morning and evening worships. Harvest Home Festival services and oaths of allegiance were observed in nearby churches as officials addressed crowds. A large turnout attended the Presbyterian anniversary supper followed by programs from the Shiel Family Mount Forest and the West End male quartet.

Death of Mrs Orlando Robertson shocks Unix community
Mrs Orlando Robertson of Hamilton died after weeks of illness at twenty two. She was formerly Bernice Trene Aulive and lived in Nassagaweya before her marriage. Funeral was in Nassagaweya Presbyterian Church with burial in Nassagaweya Cemetery. She leaves husband, father Herbert Auliffe, two brothers Lloyd and Herbert, a sister Prelda Easterbrook and many relatives. The community expresses deep sympathy as friends from multiple towns attended.

In Dundalk the community mourns Leda Wilson widow of Frank Hall Era Mora following her death Sunday night. Everton Mina Vera Bountain returned home after weeks with friends at Oakwood. Mrs John Alton and Mrs Robert Patton vacationed in Toronto. Mr Norman Mélaod joined the WAP then left for Brandon Manitoba. Mr and Mrs BE Awrey and sons Evan and Walbert from Guelph visited Mrs Usherwood. Alfred Couling and wife visited at the home of her parents in Hamilton. Everton Church was decorated with fruit flowers and vegetables Rev Kitchen of Guelph preached both services. Miss Dorothy Church sang solos and the choir provided music at both services. Mrs R Dampler is visiting Ames with her daughter and son in law near Mrs Jesse McEnery Ballinafad.

Community Notes and Local Weddings Highlight Weekend
Last Friday neighbors gathered at Mr. and Mrs. F Shelbourne for a visit with Mr. James Davies and Miss Helen Scott. Gifts were given as thanks for the Shelbournes hospitality and for their wedding anniversary. A wedding occurred Saturday at Mrs. Roberts Kaine home, uniting Mr. Robert Lane and Miss Gilndys Packer. Reverend D D Davidson presided and the couple plan a honeymoon east then residence in Georgetown. Women's Missionary Society met at Mr. John Nickell home and a quilt was donated for a bale packing project. Visitors included Messrs. Wm and Gordon Grieg of Brantford with Miss Ivens and the Gales. A local accident left Mr. John Scott with throat burns after taking acid by mistake, but he is improving. Families from Toronto joined in weekend visiting Mrs. Lane and Mrs. Norton after the Lane Packer wedding.

Erin Dr Fowler received instructions from military headquarters to report for duty in the CAP, early next week. J Pearson Magill of the RCNR left Saturday with a group of young men to report for duty Clarence Engvles Hillsburg suffered a fractured hip and bruises when he lost control of a car that crashed into the railing of a concrete bridge on the Sixth Line of Erin north of Highway 24 last Monday afternoon.
