William Swanston a farmer from Rockwood district suffers two compound fractures of the left leg when a gasoline tank exploded while he lit a match to ladle into ink. The accident occurred Wednesday morning near Eramosa Township. Swanston is hospitalized in Guelph in critical condition but progressing toward recovery. L M Leslie of Toronto narrowly escaped injury.
