Discussion on Kindness and Help at Knox Young Women Meeting
The Daughters of Knox Young Women's Affiliated group held their September meeting at Georgina Van Fleet's home on Monday September 12. Hostess and study convener led three groups with guidance from Jean McPhail Dolores Jordan and Rae Hansen. The group agreed to help others by spreading kindness and offering assistance where needed. Mrs A Buchanan welcomed new members and announced October's meeting at Gladys Price's home. Betty Ashle presided as president. Secretary Rae Hansen and treasurer Betty Holmes read reports in Lorraine Kingemill's absence. Business focused on the coming year's budget by-laws and increasing the expense fund for church and missionary projects. Mizpah benediction ended the meeting followed by games and lunch.

The 43rd Acton Fall Fair runs Friday and Saturday September 17–18 with two days of midway rides games candy apples and children’s rates after school. Highlights include Mrs J Lightle with a trained pony light horse show stock parade road races and donkey baseball along with displays in the hall and a Friday arena program featuring the lth Field Regiment band Starlighters and jugger Jeff Rolland. Townships Back Plan For Extended Area Phone Service

Memorials Dedication at St Alban’s Church Acton
Two memorials were dedicated at St Alban’s Acton. A marble tablet honors Rev W G Luxton, who died by suicide while rector 1948–52, matching a north wall memorial for Rev Cooke who died in 1885. A brass tablet memorializes those who fell in the Second Great War, matching a First World War memorial. About 150 attended the service led by Rev Ralph E Price.
