Thieves executed a third break-in at Ledger's IGA store early Wednesday, taking about $400 in cash and $450 in cigarettes and tobacco. Constables spotted the entry after doors were found jimmied. Store manager Dave Manes had most receipts secured, leaving some cash to start next day. Fingerprint work and leads are being pursued by Dundas police. A large carton found near No 25 Sideroad is believed linked to the thefts.

Former Reeve C H Harrison Dies in Toronto
C H Harrison longtime Acton figure and former reeve who co founded Acton Machine Company died at his Toronto home. Funeral services were held from Turner and Porter chapel with interment at Prospect Cemetery. Survived by wife Florence Russell and two daughters Beth Sautt and Margaret Winder. He moved to Toronto in 1936 while continuing with the business until retirement in 1949. Acton council later debated traffic safety at Mill Main St intersection as guardians eyed improving school crossing protection and signals.
