A violent storm struck Acton and surrounding Ontario areas with winds over 80 mph hail and heavy rain. Homes gardens and vehicles suffered damage while reports of lightning strikes and flooding reached nearby towns including Bolton Alliston and Guelph. Hydro wires held up but power fluctuations and broken glass were reported as roofs leaked and crops ruined.
