The Public Utilities Commission delays a 750 addition to the pump house on Main Street South amid a pending investigation. The commission cites current conditions and future costs, with no immediate need but noting possible benefits if finances allow.
The Department announces tenders awarded for grading and bridge work on Highway 401 between Campbellville and Nassagaweya, with multiple firms securing contracts. Totals exceed 1.075 million dollars with work to begin and be completed by summer 1840, including grading from Highway 3S to Campbellsville Reed and new bridge structures near CPR tracks.

A resignation letter from Cubmaster Murrey Seayne announced his departure as cubmaster of B pack to become District Cubmaster while offering to help Acton Clubs until a replacement is found. The Scout and Guide Mothers Association served lunch after the meeting.
Three youths face charges after an alleged break in at Mack sanctuary in Pushach township Horace Machoof Guelph owned sites. They reportedly left a trail of dead and injured birds, built a fire, and roasted some valuable species, harming irreplaceable wildlife.
The Minor Sports executive disclosed a small deficit after a Civic Holiday weekend event. Secretary treasurer Bennett said expenses totaled $1068. Tally showed income at $1062, leaving a deficit of $3.93. President Vic Masters announced plans for the annual banquet and noted fundraising needed to cover costs.

Acton Fire Department staged a deliberate burn of a condemned Lindmark building in Acton Park near Lake Artys on a Monday practice night. Two pumpers and two fire companies showed water relay methods using lines from lake to truck and suckers from the lake, extinguishing the blaze after multiple demonstrations.
A two car sideswipe on No 7 Highway east of Acton Saturday morning caused $600 in damage. George Mann of Willowdale sustained $460 damage to his vehicle, and Alvin Sheard’s car $360. Constable William Bennett of Milton OPP detachment investigated the incident.
