Beardmore and Co. Ltd. manager Norman Braida confirmed Poly Pentco (Canada) Ltd. will lease part of the former Wool Combing building in Acton. Renovations of a 20 000 square foot dock level space are underway to house nylon extruded parts for autos, spacecraft, and military vehicles. Thomas Murphy will be general manager. staff training is already under way in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Acton's Calamity Corner at Mill and Main streets saw a two car crash involving J. E. Mcmullen Acton West bound and Fedete Mete Toronto East bound. Constable Nicky Farion investigated and estimated total damage about 3200 dollars with a charge for improper left turn against Mete. Earlier on Main Street a collision between Steven Caswell Cooksville and Melvin Burke Duby Bracebridge caused 35 dollars damage. Duby will be charged with failing to remain at the scene.

The district annual agriculture society meeting is set for Tuesday October 25 at Sutton. Lunch was provided by Mrs. Lloyd McEnergy and Mrs. George Wallace. Mrs. Walter Linham gave thanks.
