Mr and Mrs William Williams, Acton’s oldest couple aged 86, relocate to Toronto with son Heber Williams and daughter-in-law Mrs Thomas Kitty joining. Married for 65 years on Christmas, they spent 59 in Acton after moving from Bowmanville. Williams long ran a boot and shoe business and was an early Odd Fellow, honored by a Three Links Order cuff link presentation. Beardmore Leather Leader George W Beardmore Dies
George Walthen Beardmore of Toronto long headed Beardmore leather works with plants at Acton and other sites. He died at Wellesley Hospital in his 84th year after years of ill health. Survived by two sisters and two brothers, he had been a director of National Life Assurance Co of Canada and at times of Canadian General Electric Co. He supported Upper Canada College with prizes and led St George's Society as president in 1887. He enjoyed riding to hounds golf and entertaining friends and was a bachelor Anglican.
