Local Farm Boy Fatally Injured Stopping Runaway
Morris Horovay ten year old son of farmer Alex Lorovay two miles from Alma near Guelph died after being fatally injured while attempting to stop a runaway team on his father’s farm. He died Saturday morning after transfer to Royal Alexandra Hospital Fergus.

Hamilton youth tried for furious driving in motor car crash
Police Court notes outline Gordon afrebush Shields charged with furious driving after a July crash that injured Township Clerk S. H. Albertson and damaged his car. Shields was convicted and fined $25. Other cases include Milton Champion and Fred Brown in disorderly conduct, Brown held for deportation after a US border incident, and penalties for highway violations and intoxication.

Fatal accident near Elba Hill causes death of farmer Giles
Coroner's inquest at Shelburne found Thomas Giles died September 10 when his tractor or horse aid path was struck by a car driven by Arthur White of Shelburne in a negligent manner. White stated speed about 25 mph while attempting to avoid a horse on the grade. Crown Attorney J J Inland led the inquiry with MR McKeown KC and MP present. Provincial Constable Melville of Guelph investigated. Also noted: Jewish farming group buys Eaton farm at Georgetown to establish a settlement for Jewish youths, led by Morris Saxe. Knox Church Young Peoples Guild reorganized with officers named for year ahead.

Citizens attended the Acton and Tergus Fall Fairs last week and many farmers report high corn yields this year while hay crops are light. The Erin Fair next week is expected to be a big event as residents plan outings. Miss Nellie Cook of Guelph and Miss Mary Robertson of Cleveland visit local homes. Funeral services were held for Herbert Kirkwood with Rev. John Lindsay officiating and interment at Everton cemetery. The county stone crushing operation at Thomas Mack’s gravel pit on the town line supplied material for road improvements aiding通 travel to the Gulph Road.

Parental assistance was eliminated from the school fair held Friday at Maquesing. Pupils did baking sowing and garnishing in the morning. Art and penmanship were completed earlier in school. Singing and public speaking contests occurred along with sports. Luncheon was provided by the Women's Institute. The fair was regarded as a good success.

Knox Church Acton saw a strong Rally Sunday with both morning and evening services led by Rev A C Stewart M A. About forty children led the Sunday School in the morning with recitations by Mil dred Hollinger Isabel Bruce Laura Hall and others. The choir and soloists provided hymns and anthems while Rev Stewart presented new pulpit Bible and Book of Praise to the Bibble Class. The evening young people rally featured a 300-strong choir and a quartet Lewis Smith Mann Salt and another.
