Pioneer Farm Museum to Open on Hillsburgh Area Land
A memorial project will transform part of the Hunley farm near Hillsburgh into an 18 acre pioneer farming display. The Credit Valley Conservation Authority Foundation funded old equipment and plans a year round operation to show pre modern farming with horse power and steam gear. Walter Huxley will run the site with a 3rd generation owner at the homestead as trustees and volunteers prepare for an April handover to begin public viewing.

Collision on Highway 7 causes $600 damage
Cars driven by Acton and Bowmanville men collided on Highway 7 at the First Line Exsquesing on Thursday evening. Marcello Favre of 139 Mill St Acton received $400 damage and Martin Niewhal of Bowmanville sustained $200 damage.

Acton Hydro Commission Meets on Building Bids and Benefits

The commission agreed to switch from the present employee retirement program to OMERS, with compensation to employees to cover costs. Lightning hits 2300 volt line plunges town into blackout
A bolt struck a 2300 volt main on Bower Avenue causing the line to split and three transformers to fail. Two crews restored service after two hours as street and house lights were out and residents used candles. Joltffected telephone lines and damaged transformers were reported in several blocks.
