Acting Treasurer Appointed for Few Months
A joint Council and Public Utilities Commission meeting appointed Miss B H Speight to a deputy treasurer role for a few months while she recovers health and granted leave until year end. Mrs Gladya McKersie was named deputy-treasurer and deputy secretary treasurer with authority to sign documents. Council also asked the Public Health Board to seek an additional doctor for Acton and district medical services.

Remembrance Day Service Held in Acton
A large crowd attended Remembrance Day ceremonies in Acton on Sunday. The parade from the Town Hall was led by Acton Boys Band with the Reeve, council members, Legion branches, I C D E and Women’s Institute participants. Wreaths were laid at the Soldiers Memorial for Ontario, Acton, and local groups. A two minute silence followed the Last Post and Reveille. The service continued at the United Church with Rev. Fosbury guiding and a Kipling Recessional. a duet featured Cpl Ivan G Chalmers and Mrs Fosbury.
