Acton and District Branch No 197 Canadian Legion BES.L. and the mayor led Remembrance Day events. The parade by Acton Citizens' Band headed to the cenotaph where two minutes of silence occurred. Elmer Smith read names. wreaths were laid. benediction followed. later service at Knox Presbyterian Church featured Rev. Ray Cogierus and other clergy. Representatives then attended Nassagaweya service with wreaths and the Last Post sounding.

Martin Marks of Acton, 15, became the district's youngest student pilot after eight hours of flight training and a successful solo run. He attends Notre Dame in Guelph and paid most costs through summer work with the Brampton Flying Club.
